Customers do not see the prep work once it is painted over.
For painters
Show the prep, the paint and the finish
Great paint jobs hide the work that went into them. Photo Luego captures the cracks, patches and tired walls, then the finished rooms from the same angle, and gives you a report that justifies your price.

Where the money leaks
Touch-up disputes need a record of the original condition.
Quotes are easier to win with a portfolio of real jobs.
How Photo Luego helps
Match each wall, ceiling or trim shot with a ghost overlay.
Time-stamped before photos protect you if a customer disputes the condition.
A report with captions like "two coats, filled and sanded".
A map of the property for multi-building jobs (optional).
Photograph each room before you move furniture. After the final coat, match each shot and send the report with your invoice.
What to photograph on a painting job
- Every room wide, before you move furniture or lay drop cloths.
- Cracks, nail holes, peeling paint, water stains and damaged drywall.
- Trim, doors, ceilings and any area you will repair or replace.
- The prep: patched, sanded and primed surfaces.
- Paint cans and colour names, so the colour is on record.
- The finished walls, trim and ceilings from the same corners.
Tips for before and after photos that match
- 1
Shoot every room from a corner of the room, standing in the same spot for the before and after.
- 2
Turn on all the lights and open the blinds for the before and the after, so the colour reads the same.
- 3
Photograph prep before you cover it. Nobody sees the filler once it is painted.
- 4
Take close-ups of cut-in lines and edges for the after, since that is where quality shows.
- 5
Put the colour and finish in the caption, for example "Accessible Beige, eggshell, two coats".
- 6
Keep personal items out of the shot, and clear tools and ladders before the after photo.
Short captions that help the report sell
One line under a transformation says what you did. A few to adapt:
Water-stained ceiling, patched, primed and painted.
Living room walls, two coats, eggshell finish.
Cracked trim replaced and painted.
Kitchen cabinets sanded, primed and sprayed.
Tell the customer you photograph the condition before you start: "I take photos of the walls and any damage when I arrive, and again when I finish, so we both have a clear record." This also protects you from claims about marks that were there already.

Questions
What should I photograph on a painting job?
Each room wide, existing damage, the prep work, the paint colours and finish, and the finished room from the same corner.
Can I add notes about the prep work?
Yes. Add a line under each transformation to explain what you did, such as the repairs, the coats and the colour.
Why photograph damage before I start?
It records the condition you found, so a touch-up dispute does not become a question of who caused a mark.
Can I keep it for my portfolio?
On the free plan keep the PDF. On Pro, jobs are saved to your account so you can find them later.
